Tropical Storm Danny - a bit toothier than Bill

A very brief walk on the beach on Saturday August 29th at 7:00 revealed the above nice teeth in just a few minutes. Although Bill's influence on the waves was much more severe, the teeth hunting was more productive following Danny.

Based on the heavy waves and high tides, we thought some interesting teeth were likely to appear, though early morning trips on August 22nd and 23rd revealed no monsters, but several smaller teeth.

Tooth in center foreground, demonstrating relevant position to beach. Notice, the tooth is perpendicular to the water's edge. With the longer canine shaped teeth, they have smooth surfaces and tend to roll. When these teeth get pushed up in sloping smooth sand, they tend to roll back with the tide, unless they turn perpendicular to the water's edge and get caught in the sand. When you see sloped smooth sand, perpendicular tends to be the most common placement.
