Finding Shark teeth in Florida
I hadn't been to Florida in a while, but went down to see the shuttle launch on May 16. I tried to demonstrate how easy it was to find shark teeth on the beach in Florida at Anastasia State Park. However, I spent 20 minutes or so walking on the beach and was completely shut out. I could not find a single shark's tooth. Later, as I was waiting for my order from the taco truck, just outside the park (recommended), I studied the white gravel parking lot and found a tooth. After it was admired, it was put in a safe place in the car, and hasn't yet resurfaced. However, the picture below, along with the description of the fossilized tooth, should be helpful.

The image above represents a picture of a tooth from my personal collection. However, the tooth found among the gravel parking lot in Florida looked mostly like this, with the exception of color. The shark tooth found in Florida was black at the base and gums, but the top of the tooth looked more like the color of sand, or perhaps the color of a human heavy coffee drinker.
